Well, seeing as each large region only has 2 or 3 keys for them, you only need to carry around 2 or 3 stacks of keys total. It's not a big deal...

Look buddy, you can't keep everything. It's a fact of life. Deal with it. If Anet gives us twice as much storage space, we'll be hoarding twice as much stuff, and still have the same problem. Life's all about making decisions and management... surely you can call upon some of those skills?

It's like trying to get rid of debt by borrowing more money. It's only a temporary solution. If you don't get rid of your bad habits, you'll just be making the problem worse.

Boy are you wrong.

The key situation is getting out of hand. On any given character I can have up to half a dozen different key sets.

Canthan Keys. Kurzick Keys. Phantom Keys. Obsidian Keys. Miner Keys. Shiverpeak Keys. Keys for the "elite missions" (forgot what they were called, too lazy to go check).

And what are we going to do a year from now with 2 more expansion (cough standalone cough) chapters, each with about 6-8 new key sets?

The problem is, you don't know how many keys you'll need in a mission. I also don't know day to day where I will be playing. I could be doing THK one day, the next I'll be doing an elite mission. The next day maybe some skill capping in Arborstone. Or making a UW run. I always like to keep at least 2-3 keys on my character just in case I'm doing something unexpected and don't think about buying a key.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if the traders didn't make a 50% profit if you were to sell the keys back. And keys aren't like cfrating material, you're not gonna stand around in LA advertising "WTS Shiverpeak Keys".

It's a valid problem. At the very least, changing the key system to just a generic key would certainly help, or allow players to buy a "skeleton key" that unlocks all chests - perhaps having to spend 50K-100K for the key, but then never having to buy another key again.

Also, some folks don't appreciate being told "deal with it" - they have every right to complain. If you don't like their complaints, don't read them. At the very least, bring something more constructive to the table than a subtle "STFU".

I am also noticing my keys getting out of control. A key ring would be great even if it only held 5 stacks of keys (though I honestly see no reason to limit it like that).

My what an old thread.

SO, instead of starting a new one, I'll add my call for a keyring, that you click on and it works like a pouch, with perhaps 5 slots, enough for UW, FOW and DoA at least, as well as a couple besides. I'm finding that as my character goes around capping elites in all different areas i'm loading and unloading keys off my mules into xunlai storage.

To answer the question, why do you have so many items you have mules, I use them mostly to store weapon upgrades and greens for my heroes and for sale in batches now and again. I also store materials and dyes, which also can grow rather quickly, even when converting to rarer crafting materials to use up the space in the crafting storage box.

Um...
This option is a huge strain on the code. 2bags, one pouch and a backpack is all you need. A keyring is an alright idea, but think of the GUI retrospect. If this keyring thing is attached to your beltpouch it could easily become a dropdown menu therefore making the backpack GUI quite cluttered..
Sorry but as good as it sounds.

i have a whole mule dedicated to keys, and it sucks. there's no telling how many chests you will bump into in yr travels, and i always end up with extras. i have all 3 chapters and the key situation is officiallly ridiculous. i'd like to be able to stock a character up on keys and not have to worry about running out or clogging up my inventory.
